UK: Safety Technology Reaches New Heights with GWO Approval

UK Safety Technology Reaches New Heights with GWO Approval

Safety Technology Ltd announced they have been awarded GWO accreditation for a multitude of safety courses for working on wind farms worldwide.

The first in the UK to be audited by industry standard setters RenewableUK for the following modules of the GWO Basic Safety Training; Work at Height, Manual Handling and First Aid. Safety Technology is now accredited to deliver these basic safety skills from their facilities in South Wales and Blyth.

The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standard was originally set up to ensure an injury-free work environment for construction and operation in the wind energy sector globally. This Basic Safety Training has been developed in response to the demand for a recognisable global safety standard through working closely with Wind Turbine owners and manufacturers.

Already an approved training provider of RenewableUK Work at Height and Rescue, Safety Technology can now offer combined GWO and RenewableUK accredited courses from a host of locations throughout the UK.

Managing Director Bob Dickens said on the recent news “We are delighted to be the first company to achieve multiple RenewableUK GWO accreditation. We have worked closely with GWO members and RenewableUK over the last couple of years and the implementation of a Basic Safety Training standard has long been our goal. It will enable us to deliver the same high quality accredited training in different locations and countries that will be recognized by the industry’s major wind companies and Wind Associations”.

Now entering its tenth year in the energy sector, Safety Technology provides safety training, equipment and H&S services to the Utilities, Telecoms and Renewables sectors, with training centres in South Wales, Blyth, South Shields, Great Yarmouth, and the USA.
