We are proud to announce the establishment of Blue Offshore as a specialist marine engineering contractor assisting with developing the world’s wind and tidal potential. Blue Offshore will in first instance provide subsea cable installation services for offshore wind farms. We will assist our customers with innovative standalone and module-based solutions to suit their particular needs.
Blue Offshore will provide all the products and services required for subsea cable and umbilical installation, ranging from project management, design and engineering through to installation and terminations. We will provide these services through the involvement of highly qualified individuals with proven track records together with strategic partners with the aim to provide fast response times, service reliability and accuracy.
With respect to installation equipment, Blue Offshore is currently finalising details with a number of suppliers for the provision of subsea cables installation equipment, including a turntable with 7,000 tonnes carrying capacity and specialist burial tools. This equipment will come available in 2011 and can be used on anchor-moored barges and/or DP vessels, largely depending on the customer’s project requirements.
