The Husum Wind Energy Trade Fair is widely regarded as the world’s longest-running wind energy industry trade show. It will be held in the new Husum congress and event center on September 21 to 25, 2010.

Founded in 1989, the Wind Energy Trade Show, held every two years in Husum, is recognized as one of the world’s leading events in the wind energy sector. Organized by Husum Messe and supported by several national and international organizations, the show features products, services and innovations from leading companies and organizations engaged in wind energy component manufacturing, development, construction and support around the globe. More than 950 exhibitors from over 35 nations as well as around 25,000 visitors from 70 countries are expected to take part in Husum Wind Energy 2010, continuing the success of past exhibitions.

The scope of SGS Wind Energy Services showcased by SGS includes Commissioning and In-Service Inspection, Wind Farm Project Certification and Design Verification.

Commissioning and In-Service Inspection offered by SGS includes Commissioning Services, Final Acceptance Inspection, Periodic In-Service Inspections as well as Pre Warranty and End of Warranty Inspection, which are indispensable for the successful operation of any wind farm. SGS has implemented a combination of high-end specialized consultancy with traditional inspection and testing services to assist clients in the routine maintenance of their wind farms.

Another relevant service for wind farm owners provided by SGS is Wind Farm Project Certification. SGS helps to minimize the technical project risk by providing independent and site-specific assessment and certification of wind farm projects, both onshore and offshore, as well as the inspection and testing of critical components such as rotor blades, gearboxes and towers. Furthermore, SGS offers certification services for each phase of a wind farm project to ensure that the wind farm will perform successfully throughout its intended lifetime.

Attendees will also have the chance to learn more about SGS Design Verification. To ensure that a wind farm project fulfils the applicable regulatory or client-specific requirements and operates as intended, SGS verifies that the design is in accordance with proven industry standards and meets given requirements for operational, safety and environmental performance. With an appropriate scheme, Design Verification by SGS provides confidence that a wind farm is designed to the required standards, criteria and legislation with regard to material selection, design and safety level following a structured development process.

During this five-day event visitors are welcome to ask questions and to discuss any aspects of the various services offered for the wind energy sector with SGS experts.
