GEO.xyz Expands its Fleet with New Survey and Support Vessel ‘GEOSURVEYOR VI’ (Belgium)

Operations & Maintenance

GEO.xyz announces the latest addition to it’s fleet of survey & support vessels. “GEOSURVEYOR VI” was delivered to GEO.xyz in June, the Belgian Head quartered company, specialising in hydrographic & geophysical surveys. The vessel is the third addition to GEO.xyz’s fleet of survey & support vessels this year.

GEOSURVEYOR VI” has a MCA cat. 2 certificate, for operations 60 nautical miles from safe haven. “GEOSURVEYOR VI” has a LOA of 12,5 m., a beam width of 4,95 m and a draught of 1,00 m.

Powered by twin IVECO 450 BHP diesel engines, the vessel achieves a top speed of 25 knots at 2600 rpm and a cruising speed of 20 knots at 2100 rpm.

Designed to GEO.xyz’s specifications, “GEOSURVEYOR VI” can cover multipurpose roles, such as crew transfer to Offshore wind farms and hydrographic & geophysical survey work. The hull design has an ultra fine deep “V” section, which reduces slamming to a minimum and which helps to keep the vessel on a more level altitude. This is an aide to both survey works and for crew transfers, while maximising fuel efficiency.

The wheelhouse has been enlarged from previously supplied vessels, providing more space and comfort for passengers. Also, the cabin is installed with a survey desk, a small kitchenette, a wet clothes room, toilet and shower.

Patrick Reyntjens, Managing Director of GEO.xyz said, “We are delighted to have taken delivery of “GEOSURVEYOR VI”, and believe that this in conjunction with our other new vessels this year, reinforces our commitment to our industry”.
