According to IBM, Vestas has applied the most innovative information management solution within their entire customer base in 2011. The ‘Most Innovative Award’ was granted to Vestas for the deployment of the supercomputer Firestorm.

The award was presented to Vestas at an award ceremony with over 10,000 people attending IBM’s annual ‘Information on Demand’ conference in Las Vegas, USA.

“We use the supercomputer and the knowledge it brings us in new ways – and on top of that we improve the business case of green energy. That’s why we won the award,” says Lars Christian Christensen, Vice President for Plant Siting & Forecasting in Vestas Technology R&D.

Firestorm gives Vestas a competitive edge
