Trump Criticizes Councilor for Not Voting Against Wind Farm (UK)

Donald Trump, a USA billionaire businessman, has criticized the Aberdeenshire councilor Peter Argyle for not voting against the wind farm offshore his luxury golf resort, STV reports.

He said that the “ugly” wind turbines would “destroy” the community.

Last month, Trump stopped the work on a hotel and the golf resort housing plans until Marine Scotland makes the final decision regarding the offshore wind farm later this year.

Argyle said: “We were asked to raise any issues of the potential impact the turbines may have and that`s what we have done.“

“Mr. Trump is clearly someone who expresses himself very freely and I have no problem with people saying what they think. In fact, I find it quite refreshing.“

On 1 August, 2011, Vattenfall, Technip and Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG), the joint venture (JV) partners behind the cutting edge Wind Deployment Centre in Scottish waters, the 11wind turbine European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) off Aberdeen Bay, submitted their consent application to Marine Scotland.

The wind turbines will be 195 meters high and will be located 2.4 kilometers off the coast.
