UK and China to Use “Shallow Water” Sway Version

A “shallow water” Sway version with a shorter and wider tower has been adapted to as little as 55m water depth for installations in the UK and China.

This will make it possible to bridge the gap between the jacket foundations and the cost effective Sway solution between 55-110m water depths. For larger water depths our traditional tension leg is used between the tower and the seabed anchor.

About Sway

Sway AS is renewable energy company on course to revolutionize wind energy design, in particular for offshore installations. This is based on a game-changing, down-wind floating tower for deep water deployment developed since 2002. The Sway floating tower is capable of carrying commercially available offshore wind turbines in the 2,5-5MW class. Sway has therefore entered into a partnership with Areva-Multibrid for the adaptation of their 2,5-5MW turbine to the floating Sway tower.
