USA: House of Delegates Might Vote on Offshore Wind Bill

According to Associated Press, the House of Delegates in Maryland is supposed to vote today on a Bill, aimed at introducing more favourable conditions for development of offshore wind off the coast of Ocean City.

A scaled-back measure would reduce monthly costs to residential utility customers and amount to $1.50 a month, a rate adjustable to $2012.

Initial approval to the Bill was given on Thursday and today it is up to a coalition of supporters to present final arguments concerning the benefits of the measure. These relate to its positive effects in regard to minority-owned businesses in the state and reducing of air pollution.
