Denmark: Seaway Heavy Installs 1710mt Transformer Platform at Anholt Offshore Wind Farm

Wind Farm Update

Seaway Heavy Lifting’s (SHL) state-of-the art crane vessel with 2500-mt fully revolving crane, Stanislav Yudin, completed the work on installation of 1710mt transformer platform at Dong Energy’s Anholt offshore wind farm, ReNews informs.

The work was carried out on behalf of Energinet.dk

In 2010 Danish Energy Agency awarded Dong Energy the concession to build the next major offshore wind farm in Denmark off the Danish island of Anholt in the Kattegat.

The farm is expected to reach 400 MW capacity, supplying pollution free power to over 400,000 households, which makes 4% of Denmark’s total power consumption. The overall construction will cost approximately DKK 10 bn, i.e. €1.35 bn.

According to SHL, regardless of tight weather window the construction works have been carried out without impediments.

The wind farm should be ready to generate its first power this year.
