Denmark: DHI Recommends More Focus on Environmental Issues to EWEA

A number of delegates and exhibition visitors at EWEA 2012 found their way to the DHI booth. Of particular interest were their modeling services in relation to habitat assessment, radar technology and underwater noise impacts related to offshore projects.

It’s obvious that the pace of offshore developments is increasing the risk for environmental barriers, not least because of poor planning and insufficient application of best available technologies. Considering the limited focus on environmental issues during the conference in Copenhagen DHI will urge EWEA to focus more on these important elements in next year’s EWEA events.

The European Wind Energy Association, with over 700 members from over 60 countries, is the World’s largest and most powerful wind energy network. DHI is  a part of it for the 10th consecutive year.

For more than two decades DHI has proven its ability and standing, through experience, R&D, technology development and innovation, by helping and supporting developers in the field of offshore wind energy. DHI’s services reach from site analysis and field campaigns, over feasibility and metocean design data to environmental services.
