TechConsult UK Catches Opportunities in Evolving Offshore Wind Market

TechConsult UK sees growth in the energy market as a great field of new opportunities for workers, many of whose skills can be transferred to various sectors, reported the GazetteLive.

The company is working with Energi Coast to identify the opportunities, and is interested in developments off the Moray Firth in Scotland, Hornsea in east Yorkshire, the Humber and the Norfolk coast.

“We are seeing offshore wind turbines being erected off the UK coastline and we believe that the skilled people on our books can play an important role in ensuring that such projects are a success,” said Dawn Smith, senior recruitment consultant.

The company has appointed recruitment consultant Daniel Bowes as the key member of staff to develop its links with companies from the region and to increase the number of workers placed with North-east companies.

Mr Bowes said that the regional companies are looking to employ staff in offshore, oil and gas, renewables and subsea areas, and TechConsult wants to create much closer contacts with those businesses..

The company is based near Redcar, and it is engaged in the offshore, fabrication and maintenance process, shipbuilding, and civil engineering sectors. It has a large number of workers, including engineers, technicians, project managers and administration personnel.
