Thomson Ecology will be showcasing their expertise in marine, freshwater and terrestrial ecology and advising clients on how to achieve planning consents for the biodiversity aspects of their projects.
The company is now the UK’s leading ecology specialist and has global ambitions. Last year it acquired Unicomarine (now known as Thomson Unicomarine). Thomson Unicomarine has the largest benthic marine laboratory in Europe and analyses samples from around the world.
This summer the marine business will be moving to even larger premises, providing capacity to grow the team to around 100 marine biologists.
In addition to their marine benthic invertebrate expertise, Thomson Ecology has experienced a significant growth in demand for offshore marine surveys and consultancy and onshore cable route surveys and consultancy from the renewable energy sector as well as oil and gas, port and dredging clients.
