The installation of the wind turbines at Anholt offshore wind farm will commence in September, but already now, the preparations in and around Grenaa Harbour are in full activity before Siemens Wind Power commences the installation works.

As the installation vessels also have to jack up in Grenaa North Harbour when hoisting the heavy wind turbine components on board the installation vessels, the seabed conditions at the north quay have also been inspected.

The inspections proved that in certain areas of the harbour, the seabed is too soft for the installation vessels to perform safe operations; therefore, a dredging boat is removing the upper seabed layer before gravel is laid in the affected area.

Furthermore, four sheet piling boxes will be driven into the seabed and placed to fit precisely with the impression of one of the three installation vessels.
