German Coastal States Awaiting Meeting with Councellor

As Hamburger Abendblatt reported, two weeks ago, Bremen’s Mayor wrote to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel regarding the concerns about the delayed expansion of the electricity grid, connection of offshore wind farms to the grid and problems with network operator Tennet, saying that further delays will not be tolerated.

Unfortunately, Chancellor Merkel has not responded to the letter yet, so the coastal countries, the northern German states and Bavaria that are demanding a faster network connection will have to wait for the meeting on August 8.

Besides the deputy ministers from these coastal countries, this meeting will be attended by representatives of Federal Network Agency and Environment Ministry.
