DONG Energy has confirmed its participation as a speaker in the North Sea Offshore Wind conference to be held on 10th October 2012 in Hull. The Danish owned energy company’s announcement finalises an all star line-up of speakers alongside SMart Wind, Forewind, the Crown Estates, Reef Subsea Technocean, InTurbine and Fedem Technology.

Tim Johnson, Contract Manager at DONG Energy said:

“Being at the North Sea Offshore Wind conference will not only give us the chance to present what we do but also to engage with potential suppliers. The ongoing development of the supply chain is key to DONG Energy’s continued development in the UK, where we are one of the big players in offshore wind.”

The North Sea Offshore Wind conference, taking place on the 10 October 2012 at the Hallmark Hotel in Hull, will focus on the opportunities and areas for development within the supply chain from both a manufacturing and operations & maintenance prospective. With tangible cost reductions becoming essential to the delivery of Round 2 and 3 projects, as well as the growth of the UK supply chain, the need to look at areas for collaboration within the supply chain is vital to the successful acceleration of new innovations and efficiencies.

The North Sea Offshore Wind conference brings together an international audience from across the offshore wind supply chain to hear from key figures and to participate in scheduled meetings.

Tim Barraclough, North Sea Offshore Wind conference said:

“The development of partnerships and joint ventures within the supply chain has proved to be a great way of making lasting progress within the offshore wind sector. Alpha Energy in Hull and Bluewater Danbrit in Goole are two great examples of how knowledge and expertise from Scandinavia and the UK have come together to provide services to the offshore wind market.”
