HRH Crown Prince Haakon will officially open the Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm at a ceremony at Norfolk’s Holkham Hall on Thursday, the Foreigner news portal says.
With the last wind turbine installed on July 10, the project had its ups and downs during the development. Besides the delays caused by unfavourable weather conditions, it faced a 10-month setback and a NOK 600 million loss when the heavy lift vessel MS Svanen had to be replaced due to unsuitability.
Sheringham Shoal offshore wind farm comprises 88 turbines and is expected to supply 220,000 households with electricity.
