The AWEA Offshore Windpower Conference and Exhibition in Virginia Beach kicks off as the people involved and interested in the offshore wind sector gather on its first day, the Associated Press reports.
The featured speakers today are Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling and the director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Tommy Beaudreau.
The state of Virginia is an adequate location to develop offshore wind, with its shallow waters and tough winds.
