The former large shipyard, Siag Nordseewerke Emden has extended their contract with Global Tech from Hamburg to construct 10 tripod foundations, thus securing work till the end of this year, writes DPA.
This contract comes as an important step toward further rescue measures of this shipyard, said deputy council chairman Heinz-Günter Schäfer since Siag Nordseewerke filed for insolvency on October 17.
By the end of this year, Aurich district court should decide on the next steps regarding the preliminary insolvency.
“We are pleased, but what happens in 2013, remains unknown,” added Schäfer .
