The Netherlands Pontis Introduces 75m Wind Turbine Rotor Blade

Pontis introduced its 75m wind turbine rotor blade to the market, named after engineer Edgar Suselbeek’s newborn son Tygo. This IEC Class l rotor blade design is geared toward the 6MW class offshore wind turbines.

With this next generational rotor blade, our wind energy portfolio now ranges from 37m through 75m rotor blades. For TYGO we use conventional reinforcement, core, and resin materials to ensure a lightweight and cost-effective design. This IEC Class I blade is offered with a high modulus glass spar cap option, and conventional E-glass and carbon spar options are also available. Naturally we customize TYGO to fit your turbine specifications in terms of speed, power ratings etc.

TYGO is the latest design of Pontis’ four man strong in-house design and analysis team. They are dedicatedly working on intelligent structural designs, fundamental to optimizing composite solutions in terms of cost-of-energy and ease of manufacturing. For example: infusion time of the TYGO blade shell is one hour thanks to an optimized infusion strategy.
