Germany Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke Company Management Change

General Cable announced the appointment of Dr. Günther Schöffner as Managing Director and Geschäftsführer of Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of General Cable, effective February 18, 2013.

Dr. Schöffner will succeed Rudolf Stahl, who led the company since the acquisition of NSW. He will assist Dr. Schöffner in the transition and might continue as external consultant to support the company in its journey to establish a strong and respected name in the submarine power and telecom business.

Dr. Schöffner has a MBA, as well as a PhD in engineering and nearly 10 years of senior management experience in energy transmission and distribution with Siemens. He has recently completed experience in a high-technology company as well as in consultancy for Business Excellence.

According to Emmanuel Sabonnadière, CEO of the European General Cable Group, “the company continues to strongly support the business development of the submarine cables. The unit of NSW is pivotal in this journey and we recognize the great transformation work done since years under the leadership of Rudolf Stahl.
