UK: NOF Energy Welcomes Plans for Neptune Subsea Technology Center

The plans for construction of a subsea technology center have been welcomed by NOF Energy’s CEO George Rafferty, informs The Northern Echo.

He welcomed the decision to build the Neptune National Center in the North-East on the River Tyne in Newcastle.

The region has one of the most vibrant subsea sectors in the UK made up of around 100 companies, which turnover more than £1bn.

“These companies are at the forefront of technological developments, which enhance operations across the energy and telecoms industries,” The Northern Echo quoted Mr. Rafferty as saying.

The center will feature a hyperbaric chamber capable of testing technology and materials at temperatures and pressures equivalent to those found at the deepest ocean depths.
