Seajacks Zaratan Installs Final Monopile at Meerwind (Germany)

At 22:00 on Sunday 21st April, Seajacks Zaratan completed hammering of the 80th and final monopile at the Meerwind Offshore Wind Park in Germany.

Blair Ainslie, CEO for Seajacks said: “The installation of the final monopile yesterday at Meerwind is a significant achievement for all who have been involved in the project. We are proud to have delivered this first phase of the project smoothly and on schedule over the challenging winter months. With all monopiles now installed by Zaratan, over half of the transition pieces installed by Seajacks Leviathan and turbine installation set to begin within the next few weeks, the project is well on track to be completed by Autumn 2013.”

Zaratan will arrive in the port of Ijmuiden today, where she will demobilise from monopiles and mobilise to commence installation of the first five of the eighty Siemens 3.6 turbines in Esbjerg.
