UK: All-Energy 2013 Month Away

All-Energy 2013, the UK’s largest renewable energy exhibition and conference opens in Aberdeen four weeks’ today on Wednesday 22 May.

The two-day event, the largest in its 13-show history, has some 580 exhibitors filling 8,000m2 (net) at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC); over 320 speakers from home and overseas in the world-class multi-stream far ranging conference; and a further 60 in three showfloor seminar theatres which are devoted to offshore wind, wave and tidal and business energy efficiency.

“We’re looking forward to two packed and stimulating days this time next month,” says Jonathan Heastie, Exhibition Director, Global Group Renewables and Alternative Energyof Reed Exhibitions Ltd. “Registrations are coming in thick and fast from all over the world. Last year 8322 people from 49 countries attended All-Energy 2012; the scene is set for that number to be exceeded.

“All the component parts are in place for a highly successful event – the major exhibition, superb conference and seminar programmes, and our traditional Giant Networking Evening, which does exactly what it says ‘on the tin’, it will attract over a thousand and it is for one purpose, and one purpose only …. networking.

“As the exhibition is so large, we have visitor trails to help those attending the show find the way to the exhibitors specialising in what they are looking for. Exhibitors are currently signing onto the right trails for their business interests and the trail ‘scores’ mount on a daily basis but, we already know that we have 68 on the Bioenergy trail, 77 on Energy Efficiency; 64 on Hydropower, 47 on Investment; 34 on Jobs; 29 are on the Low Carbon Transport trail; 87 on Offshore Maintenance; 160 on offshore wind; 157 on onshore wind; 73 have opted for Renewable Heat, 82 for Solar Energy; and 137 for Wave and Tidal, by show time all of these figures will probably have doubled. However, even now they help to give a picture of the broad reach of the show.”

The international reach of the show is emphasised by the fact that UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Commercial Officers and selected international buyers from up to 20 countries – Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, the Nordic countries, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, UAE and USA – will be available to meet with UK companies to discuss the opportunities that exist in each of their respective markets. A booking system for these one-to-one sessions is already in place with information on the All-Energy website.

Wide ranging programme

“We have added conference and seminar theatre emphasis this year for Business Energy Efficiency – conserving energy is just as vital as generating it,” explains Jonathan Heastie. “And more sessions this year are devoted to energy for communities; and to hydrogen and fuel cells than ever before. Combining the conference and seminar areas we have some 23 hours devoted to offshore wind; and over 20 hours devoted to wave and tidal topics, but with ten parallel sessions on the first day, and nine on the second we believe we have a programme that appeals to everyone with a business/professional interest in the any part of the industry whether they are a farmer looking for a solution or from an orgnaisation interested in grid or smart cities issues, carbon capture and storage or wanting to know the latest situation on EMR and on the UK Green Investment Bank.

“The list of speakers reads like a veritable ‘who’s who; of the industry, and includes the Rt Hon Edward Davey MP, Secretary of State, DECC and Fergus Ewing MSP, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, Scottish Government Professor Sir Jim McDonald, Maitland Mackie, Huub den Rooijen, Benj Sykes, Lady Susan Rice, Adam Bruce, Andrew Jamieson ….. I could go on and on, I urge you to look at the programme for yourself so you can determine how you will spend your time with us!”
