Wind Farm Update

First Transition Piece Installed at DanTysk Offshore Wind Farm (Germany)

The first transition piece (TP) was grouted at the DanTysk Offshore Wind Farm on location DT01 on the 1st of May.

Since the Seafox 5 first entered the DanTysk field it has been too cold for the installation of the TPs. Monopiles have been left standing, just barely visible above the waters surface.

For the installation of the TPs, grout (concrete) has to be filled into the gap between MP and TP.  Until now, the seawater and/or air have always been too cold to harden the grout quickly enough and the possibility of disrupting the material itself should be avoided under such conditions.

Installation of the first TP as late as May 1st was unforeseen.

However, the “foundation stone / Grundstein / grundsten” has now been laid, following the German tradition of placing a sealed cornerstone deep in the first foundation.
