Germany: EMS Sells Two Crew Transfer Vessels

At the end of June 2013, Knut Gerdes, CEO of EMS Maritime Offshore GmbH, signed the sales contract for the service crew transfer vessels Emswind and Emsstrom.

“With the Emswind and the Emsstrom, we did the first successful steps in the offshore business in 2007. Both vessels did a great job in the past and enabled us to gain experiences in the operation of a Crew Transfer Vessel.” says Knut Gerdes. “It´s now time for a change in our fleet to meet the growing requirements for crew transfer and service vessels. With the operation of the new DAMEN FCS 2610 (available in September 2013) we reached the next level in our story of success.”

Last month, the WINDEA Offshore GmbH & Co. KG signed a Letter of Intent together with DAMEN Shipyards regarding the sale of the DAMEN FCS 2610 in order to expand its all in all service portfolio for offshore wind farms. 

The WINDEA Offshore GmbH & Co. KG is a joint venture of the EMS Maritime Offshore GmbH, Emden; Bernhard Schulte Group, Hamburg and SSC Wind GmbH, Wildeshausen.
