Statoil Cancels Offshore Wind Project Offshore Maine, USA

The Norwegian energy company, Statoil, has decided to drop the offshore wind project off Maine’s coast, writes Press Herald.

Statoil was planning to deploy four floating wind turbines offshore Boothbay Harbour.

The main reason for Statoil to cancel this USD 120 million project was political uncertainty.

Ola Morten Aanestad said for Press Herald that the company will now focus on the projects in Scotland where the government’s policy is more clear.
