UK Rampion Proposal Discussed at Inquiry

 

The proposal for E.ON’s Rampion Offshore Wind Farm has been accepted for consideration by the Planning Inspectorate, writes BBC.

E.ON plans to build a 700MW wind farm 13 kilometers off the Sussex coast. The wind farm would consist of up to 175 wind turbines.

The proposal will be examined at the Brighton Centre from 30th October until 7th November.

The main topics of this hearing are:

  • Biodiversity, biological environment and ecology including Habitats Regulation assessment
  • Landscape / seascape and visual impact
  • Socio-economic impacts including commercial fishing
  • Issue Specific hearing Development Consent order and Deemed marine Licenses

A final decision on whether consent will be granted will not be made until summer 2014.
