Belgian offshore wind industry is gaining momentum, especially after OWI-Lab invested in new wind turbine test facility and Alstom completed the installation of its new-generation offshore wind turbine.
In September, the Thornton Bank Offshore Wind Farm, the largest wind farm in the Belgian North Sea was officially opened. Also, the construction of the Northwind offshore wind farm is underway.
Furthermore, the work on the Gemini offshore wind farm is in preparation stage, and Elia is collecting its contractors for the Belgian Offshore Grid (BOG) project. And that is not everything this country has to offer.
