Construction Starts on Donghai Bridge Offshore Wind Farm Phase II (China)

The construction of the Donghai Bridge Offshore Wind Farm Phase II in Shanghai started on December 8.

Foundation piling commenced on December 8 on the west seaside of Donghai Bridge, which marks the beginning of the official construction. The total installed capacity of Donghai Phase II is 102MW with 28 sets of wind turbines. Grid-connection and generation are scheduled to take place in first half of 2015, thus the total capacity of Donghai Wind Farm will reach 200MW.

As the first large-scale offshore wind farm in China, Donghai Bridge Offshore Wind Farm Phase I has realized grid connection in June 2010. Donghai Phase II is located in 1km away from the west side of Donghai Bridge. The nearest point to shore is 5 km away and the farthest is 11 km covering a sea area of 138 hectares.

The total capacity of Donghai Phase II is 102 MW with 28 sets of wind turbines, and it is equipped with one on-land substation of 35kv. The submarine cables are 35 kv and the generation electricity will be connected to Shanghai public grid after boosting voltage via 110 kv cables.

Donghai Phase II will have the annual on-grid generation of 238.458 million kWh with 2333 full load hours annually.
