Safety Technology Initiates New Training Programme in Offshore Wind Energy Safety

Safety Technology Ltd. has announced the launch of its new safety Certificate in Offshore Wind Energy (Level 3) this week.

This fully accredited Level 3 training programme is targeted at individuals looking to work in the thriving offshore wind energy sector. The new three week programme covers all of the major industry required safety training, which includes the RenewableUK and GWO accredited courses.

With the UK as the current world leader in offshore wind, job growth in this sector has rapidly increased, with over 6,830 people now employed in full time positions according to recent figures from RenewableUK.

This new accredited training programme from Safety Technology has come in the nick of time to help individuals utilise these growing job opportunities, and will equip candidates with the necessary training required to work offshore.

Managing Director of Safety Technology, Bob Dickens, said on the new Level 3 programme: “After some 18 months of work we are really pleased to have been successful in achieving the official accreditation for this suite of courses, which will provide an excellent skill platform for individuals looking to move into the wind sector.”

The Level 3 Certificate in Offshore Wind Energy can also be used in conjunction with Enhanced Learning Credits, and not only provides candidates with a Level 3 certification, but also provides individual accreditation for each training module.

The programme will be delivered from Safety Technology’s Centre of Excellence for Renewable Safety Training in South Shields, with land based courses also available from their centres in South Wales, Great Yarmouth, Mostyn and Killybegs, Ireland.
