Can Irish Offshore Wind Create Jobs through Vessel, Crew Supply

Thomas Pringle, Donegal Independent Deputy, raised a question on the potential of job creation through the supply of tender vessels and crews for Irish offshore wind projects.

During Question Time session at the Dáil Éireann (Irish House of Deputies), Mr. Pringle asked Minister for Communications, Energy & Natural Resources, Pat Rabbitte, if his department looked into this, as this field within the offshore wind industry brings significant opportunities to increase the employment in Ireland.

Minister Rabbitte said that the recently published Offshore Renewable Energy Development Plan identifies offshore wind industry opportunities for Ireland, and when it comes to job creation, coastal communities could be the first to see the benefit.
