ESG to Build Transport System for EnBw Baltic 2 Rotor Blades

ESG Edelstahl und Umwelttechnik Stralsund GmbH will begin the construction of a transport structure intended for rotor blades of offshore wind turbines for EnBW Baltic 2 GmbH in April 2014.

Specialist company ESG will build the so-called “Blade Rack System” at the Volkswerft shipyard in Stralsund within two months. The system will then be mounted on a construction vessel. The system consists of two parts, the “Root End Blade Rack” and “Tip End Blade Rack”. The transport structure can accommodate a total of 18 blades.

ESGis also responsible for the construction of a prototype of Gicons’s Floating offshore foundation (GICON ®-SOF), and its production will begin after the completion of “Blade Rack Systemin July2014, at the Volkswerft shipyard.
