Effective from 7th March 2014, DORIS Engineering has purchased the 50% interest in Offshore Design Engineering Ltd (ODE), previously held by Saipem, with ODE now being fully owned by DORIS.

ODE, a UK engineering consultancy and design contractor in the upstream oil and gas sector and offshore renewables industry, will continue to trade as Offshore Design Engineering Ltd.

ODE provides a comprehensive range of engineering, project management and operations services to upstream oil & gas and marine renewables projects. From their offices in London, Great Yarmouth and Cairo, ODE undertakes offshore and onshore energy projects in both green-field and brown-field environments.

Loïc des Déserts, Président Directeur Général of DORIS Engineering in Paris , commented “As DORIS was the founding shareholder of ODE a little over 35 years ago and shares the same history and culture, I now look forward to extending our cooperation into the future in a much wider context across the larger DORIS Group of companies both in Europe and internationally. This will allow ODE to work as a true independent engineering company, whilst being able to benefit from our many synergies to share future success.”

Peter Godfrey, Managing Director of ODE , commented “Clearly this is a very important development for ODE, since we are now truly an integral part of a single much larger organisation, with similar but extended skill sets in specialist areas such as deep water , subsea and floating production systems. DORIS also has offices and operations in many other parts of the world, including the Americas, the Far East and the Russian block. We can therefore now look forward to growing ODE and working with the worldwide DORIS group engineering centres across a broad spectrum of activity”.
