Deutsche Offshore-Testfeld und Infrastruktur GmbH & Co. KG (DOTI), based in Oldenburg, Germany, has chartered two passenger transport vessels from Frisia-Offshore.

The vessels, which will need to carry at least 24 people and a maximum of two passenger cars, are chartered for the transfer of people and equipment to the Alpha Ventus offshore wind farm as well as possibly other offshore wind farms in the German North Sea.

Alpha Ventus is the first German offshore wind farm commissioned in April 2010. It is a joint project of EWE as a lead investor, followed by E.ON and Vattenfall.

With a total capacity of 60MW, it can supply power to 72,000 average households in Germany.
