Narec to Develop Feasible Condition Monitoring Techniques for Wind and Tidal Systems

R&D

Narec has been awarded a new Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project funded by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) in association with Newcastle University.

Narec to Develop Feasible Condition Monitoring Techniques for Wind and Tidal Systems

The project, which started in May 2014 and runs for three years, aims to develop cost effective and feasible condition monitoring techniques optimised for wind and tidal turbine nacelle systems, particularly drivetrain and DC-link capacitors.

This new addition means that Narec now has a total of three KTP projects in place addressing technical challenges associated with condition monitoring techniques for power electronics and another looking at structural testing methods of wind turbine blades.
