The picture was taken on Thursday by Phil Howe, Wind Turbine Service Technician at Siemens Wind Power, who is also Siemens’ Ambassador at Norstec.

The Norstec Academy, a new skills initiative aimed at inspiring the next generation of employees in the offshore wind industry, has invited students to submit entries about their interest in the offshore renewables industry.

Students who submit the best entries will spend a week gaining first-hand experience in the offshore wind industry through a programme designed by signatories of Norstec. They will gain insight and experience from experts and student ambassadors from some of the world’s top offshore energy and supply chain companies.

Centrica’s Lynn and Inner Dowsing are two adjacent offshore wind farms fully commissioned in March 2009. They consist of 54 3.6MW Siemens turbines.
