Second Stage of Rhiannon OWF Consultation Extended

Celtic Array, a joint venture by Centrica and Dong Energy, started with the second stage of statutory consultation for Rhiannon on the 20th March and it was supposed to run until 19th of May. The process is being extended because of errors contained in one of the documents.

The developer explained: “The previously published Appendices 9.1 and 9.2 of Chapter 9 Benthic Ecology were incorrect in the Preliminary Environmental Information documents made available for the Rhiannon Stage 2 Consultation on 20 March 2014.

“The document presented as Appendix 9.2 should have been included as an ‘annex’ to Appendix 9.1 and the correct Appendix 9.2, regarding environmental surveys of the proposed Export Cable Area, was omitted.”

The second stage of consultation is being undertaken for the Development Consent Order (DCO) application, which is expected to be submitted to the Planning Inspectorate in the Autumn of 2014.

The developer carried out the first stage of consultation at the end of 2012.
