The project, which is a UK Round 2 Development will see Technip transport and install 42.5km of 33 kilovolts (kV) Inter Array cables.

Once completed, the Westermost Rough development will have an export capacity of 210 MW.

The project will be engineered and delivered by Technip Offshore Wind in Aberdeen with the installation work expected to conclude in the second half of 2014. Technip’s new CBT1100 Trencher and other award-winning, cutting-edge technology, will be used to ensure safe, effective project delivery. The utilization of this technology played a key factor in DONG selecting Technip for the contract.

Ron Cookson, Senior Vice President of Technip Offshore Wind, said: ‘This contract follows on from Technip’s safe and successful completion of work on DONG Energy’s Gunfleet Sands 3 offshore wind farm project in 2012. We are delighted to be starting offshore operations and look forward to delivering a safe, effective project.’
