Planning Inspectorate Submits Recommendations for Burbo Bank Extension

The Planning Inspectorate issued a report of recommendation to the Secretary of State for the proposed Burbo Bank Extension offshore wind farm.

The Secretary of State now has three months to make a decision on this proposal.

The 90MW Burbo Bank offshore wind farm currently comprises 25 wind turbines, located in the Liverpool Bay at the entrance of the River Mersey.

Covering an area of 40 square kilometers the 258MW wind farm extension will be able to supply power to around 170,000 homes.

Earlier this year, Vestas was selected as a preferred supplier by Dong Energy. Namely, Vestas will deliver V164-8.0 MW wind turbines for the extension of the Burbo Bank wind farm.
