German utility, Stadtwerke München GmbH, is planning to acquire a stake in Sandbank offshore wind farm located in the North Sea.

The 288MW project is located in the German Bight area, around 90 kilometers west of the Island of Sylt, directly on the border between Germany and Denmark.

Currently, the sole shareholder Vattenfall is in discussion over selling 49% stake in Sandbank offshore wind farm.

Construction is planned to start in 2015, and it is expected to finish by 2016.
