Luchterduinen will feature new foundations where the monopile and the transition piece, which are usually built as two separate components, are built as a single component.

They were fabricated in the city of Roermond by Sif Group, a provider of steel structures for the offshore wind and oil & gas industry.

The wind farm, a joint operation between the Japanese company Mitsubishi Corporation and Eneco Group, is expected to be completed by the mid 2015.
