The planning Inspectorate issued a recommendation to the Secretary of State regarding the Walney Extension offshore wind farm project.

The Secretary of State has 3 months starting yesterday to issue a decision.

Dong Energy plans to develop the 750MW wind energy project located approximately 19km west-southwest from the Isle of Walney.

Comprising up to 207 turbines, it will be able to produce enough energy to meet the average needs of over half a million homes.
