Dudgeon Offshore Wind Limited has awarded the contract for the Electrical System Infrastructure for its Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm to Siemens Transmission and Distribution Ltd.

The contract covers engineering, procurement, construction and offshore hook-up of one onshore substation and one offshore substation including jacket foundation. Siemens will have the overall system responsibility to connect the offshore wind farm on to the 400 kV National Grid network in Necton. Transmission capacity will be above 400 MW and include transformation from 33/132/400 kV.

Siemens will run the project from Manchester, while the jacket and topside for the offshore substation will be built at a UK yard.

The Electrical System Infrastructure shall be finalised during 2016.
