Resolute Marine Energy Sets Up European Operations in Ireland

Business & Finance

Resolute Marine Energy, Inc. (RME) recently completed the registration of its 100% owned subsidiary in Ireland, Resolute Marine Limited (RML). RML is based in Cork and will soon move its operations from Dublin to the Irish Maritime and Energy Resource Cluster (IMERC) campus at the National Maritime College of Ireland.

“We’re very excited to start working more closely with our great partner network in Ireland,” said RME CEO Bill Staby. “We’ve had a small workforce in Ireland for over a year and as we debated about where to expand our European presence, setting up in Cork to take advantage of the sincere commitment by many Irish government offices, academic institutions, enterprises and individuals to build a robust marine energy cluster centred there stood out as the obvious best choice.”

“We’re also eagerly awaiting the 2015 opening of the UCC National Beaufort Laboratory which will give RML access to a wide range of state-of-the art resources to improve our technology and overall business.”

IMERC was established in 2010 by three public bodies: University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology, and the Irish Naval Service, to harness and integrate diverse research and industry expertise through the development of an innovation cluster focused on maritime sectors identified as being poised for rapid growth. IMERC’s s initial focus is to build upon Ireland’s position as an early leader in the nascent ocean energy (wave and tidal) sector.
