Forewind Consults on Dogger Bank Changes

Grid Connection

Forewind has started a consultation on two minor proposed changes to the development consent order application for Dogger Bank Teesside A&B.

Dogger Bank Teesside A&B comprises two 1.2 gigawatt wind farms located 165 kilometres from the UK coast at their closest point and is planned to connect to the national grid at the existing Lackenby substation near Eston, in Redcar & Cleveland. The hearings for the examination of the application start today (Tuesday, October 14).

The first proposed change is to divert a short section of the cable route within Sembcorp’s Wilton International complex to avoid land in use by an existing tenant.

The second proposed change is in response to revisions made by York Potash Ltd to proposals for a new potash mine. Forewind has taken the opportunity to reduce the temporary working width of a 540m long section of the onshore cable route from 50m to 36m.

The documents detailing the proposed amendments can be found in the Downloads section of Forewind’s website, and can also be viewed at the Redcar Central, Markse and Saltburn libraries.
