eVision’s HSE Software Implemented on ‘Thialf’

Technology

eVision Industry Software  has taken the next step in its partnership with Heerema. Today, Permit Vision goes live on the Thialf, the largest crane vessel in the world.

Permit Vision allows Thialf management direct insight in and control of frontline operational risk, which is absolutely crucial to such a large installation. The implementation of Permit Vision on this unique ship marks a milestone for eVision and will assist Heerema in achieving maximal operational integrity.

Concluding an extensive two-week Permit Vision training, response on the Thialf has been overwhelmingly positive. Permit Vision empowers staff to work safer, better, and faster, resulting in short and long-term benefits. Dave McDonald, eVision Training & On-Site Support Consultant, says: “The implementation of eVision HSE software on board is seen as a welcome enhancement by all concerned. Deploying our Permit to Work software on the Thialf brings Heerema another big step closer to achieving Operational Excellence.”

The Heerema Thialf is an impressive deep-water construction vessel. It measures two full-size football fields in length by almost 90 meters wide, weighs in at over 136,000 tonnes, and accommodates more than 700 men. This multifunctional ship is used primarily for installation of offshore wind foundations, moorings, and integrated topsides, as well as pipelines and flowlines.

Permit Vision allows Heerema unprecedented oversight of work on the Thialf, while providing improved legislative and best-practice compliance, reduced risk, and increased safety.
