Photo of the Day: Taking Care of Lincs Offshore Wind Farm

Operations & Maintenance

Offshore WIND’s photo of the day: a crew in charge of the wind turbine maintenance at Lincs Wind Farm.

On Friday (October 31), wind turbine technicians carried out their job at the offshore wind farm site.

The photo shows a moment during the maintenance of blades on the LS28 turbine, from Turbine Transfers’ vessel Cymyran Bay.

Lincs Wind Farm, comprising 75 Siemens 3.6MW turbines, was officially opened more than a year ago.

The 270MW wind farm is capable of producing enough clean renewable energy for over 200,000 homes – equivalent to around two thirds of the homes in Lincolnshire.

Construction of the wind farm started in 2010 with first power achieved in August 2012 and the last turbine lifted into place on 31st March of last year.
