London Array’s High Voltage Team Moves into New Office

Business & Finance

DONG Energy and National Grid have both joined the growing tenant community at Discovery Park in Kent, Europe’s largest science and technology park.

The site had just five tenants when it was taken over by Discovery Park Ltd, a private consortium, two years ago. Since then, it has attracted a host of companies locally, nationally and internationally, helped by its status as the UK’s most successful Enterprise Zone.

National Grid decided to open an office at Discovery Park to use as a central hub for a long-term project that they are conducting – Richborough Connection.

DONG Energy is opening the office in Discovery Park to accommodate some of its UK workforce. The company chose the site, after investigating other options in Thanet, as it fulfilled its requirements for an exemplary serviced office, close to the London Array, the company’s offshore wind farm.

Benj Sykes, DONG Energy’s offshore wind UK country manager said: “As the global leader in offshore wind energy, we are delighted to be relocating one of our key technical teams to Discovery Park.

“It will provide an ideal base for the eight-strong High Voltage team which provides support to the London Array, the world’s biggest offshore wind farm, in which DONG Energy is a partner. We look forward to building strong working relationships with other businesses in the area.”
