Authorities

Marubeni Corp. has been selected to build two wind farms off the coast of Japanese Akita prefecture, Bloomberg informs.

The two planned wind farms will have a total capacity of 145 MW. A 65 MW offshore wind farm will be built near the Akita port, while the Noshiro port will overlook an 80 MW facility.

This was confirmed by the prefectural government, which also stated that Obayashi Corp. and Eco Power Co. will be involved in the two projects.

Akita Bank and Hokuto Bank will provide financial support for the offshore wind farms.
