Ghanaian company developing wave energy project at the Ada Estuary will put to the test first six generators next month.

“We do not use oil or gas. We only use the waves from the sea and once the initial capital is set in place, the installation proceeds,” said Anothy Opoku, Chief Executive Officer of TC Energy, according to Ghanaian media.

The generators, with a total capacity of eight megawatts, are part of the project that will amount to 1,000 MW by December 2015.

Opoku also revealed the installation work on the first phase of USD 3.5 billion project is 85 per cent complete.
